Award winning program

In 1995 our Plain English Culture Shift Program was awarded the gold medal for staff development by the Institute for Municipal Managers when Canterbury Council submitted it for the awards. In  their report to the Institute of Municipal Managers Canterbury claimed that as a result of our program:

  • staff became more productive
  • management spent less time correcting and re-working staff letters
  • counter staff reported fewer requests to have letters explained
  • the community gave positive feedback about council communication.

In 1998 South Sydney City Council won two awards for their staff development program: the gold medal from the Institute of Municipal Managers, and the gold medal from the Australian Public Service Awards.

Their program introduced competency based job descriptions and awards. South Sydney City Council's Training Officer, Don Mould  believes that without TTP's plain English program they would not have achieved such excellence.
